Rome Sevens International Tournament

Saturday 13th June 2009 - 0 Comment(s)

Terry Sands, the founder of Samurai International RFC and a good friend of mine, invited me to play the Roma Sevens on the 5th - 6th of June with his high profile international sevens team.

The team was coached by Mike Friday (former England sevens coach and player). It was a great opportunity for me to once again play the game that I love and learned from Mike.

The tournament didn't go as we wanted, we lost in the quarterfinals against Mel's Exiles, led by the sevens legend Waisale Serevi. Luckily Terry fielded a women's team as well and they did us proud by winning the whole tournament.

In spite of the result it was a great trip, and I had the pleasure to meet and play with a great bunch of guys. Can't wait to play another one!
