Late rally not enough as Saints march on

Sale Sharks, although boosted by the news of Dwayne Peels's contract renewal, were seventeen points behind with three minutes of the second half gone. They staged a determined comeback but had to witness Northampton Saints' first-ever win at Edgeley Park in tonight's LV= Cup match.
The visitors forged ahead with tries from Mayor and Diggin before Sharks could reply through Hodgson and Koyamaibole. Hodgson added two conversions to the total, whilst Myler was also in impressive form, landing two conversions and two penalties.
Sharks travel to Bath next Saturday for their final Pool game.
